This Privacy Policy describes how People Incorporated (“Company” or “we” or “us”) collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes personal information in connection with ir.people-incorporated.com (the “Site”).

If we make any changes to our privacy practices, we will post a revised Privacy Policy on this page. Any revised policy will apply as of the effective date listed at the top of the Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to websites operated by Company’s brands. Company’s brands use different privacy policies, and you should review each brand’s privacy policy for more details about their personal information processing practices.

1. PERSONAL INFORMATION YOU SUBMIT

We may collect personal information directly from you or otherwise in connection with your interactions with us, such as:

  • Contact and Registration Information, including your name, email address, event registration information, and communication preferences.
  • Inquiry Information, including information provided in messages sent through forms, to our email addresses, or via phone. This also may include information provided when you sign up for our newsletters.
  • Inferences About Your Interests and Preferences, including about newsletter and communication preferences.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT AUTOMATICALLY

As is true of many digital properties, we and our third-party partners may automatically collect information you provide to us and about your device and activities when you visit the Site. We, and our third-party partners, use cookies and other tracking technologies to collect and store the information described in this section for our purposes. Personal information may also be used in the event of insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership.

4. HOW WE DISCLOSE PERSONAL INFORMATION

The personal information we collect about you may be used by all the companies and brands in the People Incorporated family. We may also disclose personal information to third parties, including:

  • Service Providers, Vendors, and Advisors: Personal information may be disclosed to vendors and other service providers who perform services for us or on our behalf. This may include certain vendors and providers who provide mailing or email services, tax and accounting services, data enhancement services, fraud prevention, web hosting, or analytic services.
  • Purchasers and Third Parties in Connection With a Business Transaction: Personal information may be disclosed to third parties in connection with a corporate transaction, such as a merger, sale of any or all of our company assets or shares, reorganization, financing, change of control or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by an affiliate or third party, or in the event of a bankruptcy, or related or similar proceedings, or, in each case, discussions or negotiations related thereto.
  • Law Enforcement, Regulators and Other Parties For Legal Reasons: Personal information may be disclosed to third parties, as required by law or subpoena, or if we reasonably believe that such action is necessary to (a) comply with the law and the reasonable requests of law enforcement, (b) enforce our Terms of Use or to protect the security or integrity of our services, or (c) exercise or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of our organization, our visitors, or others.

In connection with any of the above, we may share information with others in an aggregated or otherwise anonymized form that does not reasonably identify you.

    Further, note that restricting the use of these technologies might negatively impact your experience using our Site, as some features or offerings may be less personalized or may not work as otherwise intended. We are not responsible for the effectiveness of, or compliance with, any third parties’ opt-out options or programs, or the accuracy of their statements regarding those options or programs.

6. HOW WE PROTECT PERSONAL INFORMATION

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information you provide against accidental, unlawful, or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure, or use. That said, no security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the security of our systems at all times. Thus, you assume some risk with regard to the security of information you provide through any digital property, including our Services.

7. LINKS TO THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES OR SERVICES

We may provide links to other digital properties that are controlled by third parties, such as links on or off our Site. Linked digital properties may have their own privacy notices or policies, which we suggest you review. We are not responsible for the content, usage, terms, or privacy policies of digital properties that we do not own or control.

8. PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM USERS OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES

Your personal information may be stored in, transferred to, and processed in the United States and in any other country in which Company or other People Incorporated affiliates, vendors, partners, or service providers maintain facilities. The data protection laws in these countries may provide a different standard of protection for your personal information than the country in which you are located or your country of residence. 9. PERSONS UNDER 16

The Site is not designed or intended for use by children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 years of age. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personal information from a child under the age of 16, we will delete that information in accordance with applicable law as soon as practicable.

This section describes how Company collects, uses, and discloses the personal information of California residents who interact with us and our Site. We provide this information as a supplement to our Privacy Policy.

We may at times operate as a Service Provider for Company Brands and Process Personal Information on their behalf.

California Personal Information Rights

If you are a California resident, you have certain rights related to the personal information that we collect and maintain, including the following. Company will not discriminate or retaliate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

Right to Know. You have the right to know what personal information we process about you, including:

  • Categories of personal information we collect and our purposes for doing so;
  • Categories of sources from which we collect personal information and why we collect it;
  • Categories of recipients to whom we disclose personal information and why we disclose it, including a list of categories of personal information disclosed for a business purpose and a list of categories of personal information sold or shared for targeted advertising purposes (if any); and
  • Specific pieces of your personal information we have collected.

Right to Delete. You have the right to request that we delete your personal information that we have collected from you and are maintaining.

Right to Correct Personal Information. If you believe that personal information we maintain about you is inaccurate, you have the right to request that we correct your personal information.

Opt-Out Rights. You have the right to opt out of “sales” of personal information, sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, and certain use/disclosure of “sensitive” personal information. We do not sell personal information, share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use or disclose “sensitive” personal information for purposes to which the right to limit use and disclosure applies, including to infer any characteristics about you.

Rights Related to Profiling and Automated Decision-Making. You may have the right to opt out of certain automated decision-making and to request information about our automated decision-making activities. We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making, including profiling, in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects or for other purposes to which these rights apply.

How to Exercise Your Privacy Rights and What to Expect

To submit a request to exercise any of your privacy rights outlined in the preceding section, please email us at privacy@people.inc. You also may use an authorized agent to submit a privacy rights request on your behalf. Your authorized agent may use the same methods to submit your privacy rights request to us.

Whether you submit your request to us directly or through an authorized agent, we may need to verify your identity. The information we need to verify your identity may differ depending on the type of request you make and our relationship with you. Please note that if you submit a request to know, request to delete, or request to correct, you may be asked to provide certain personal information that we will match against our personal information we have about you to verify your identity. If you use an authorized agent to submit a request, we may require the authorized agent to provide proof that you authorized the agent to submit your request and, depending on your request, we also may require that you verify your identity directly with us. In some cases, we may engage a service provider to perform identity verification services for us.

Personal Information Retention

We retain the categories of personal information described above as reasonably necessary or permitted to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. This generally means retaining personal information for as long as at least one of the following is applicable:

  • Your personal information is reasonably necessary to manage your relationship with us or to satisfy another purpose for which we collected the information (or that is connected to that purpose), which purpose was disclosed to you at the time of collection.
  • The personal information is reasonably necessary to protect or defend our rights or property, or those of another.
  • We have your permission to use the personal information, and you have not withdrawn your permission.
  • We are required to keep your personal information to comply with applicable laws or regulations.

In many situations, we must retain all, or a portion, of your personal information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, protect against fraudulent, deceptive, or illegal activity, or for another one of our business purposes. Where personal information is used for more than one purpose, we will retain it until the purpose with the latest period expires.
